YULETIDE CHEER: wintersong

Oh how I love Christmas music. Up until last year my favorite Christmas album was "Merry Christmas" by the McKrells's, an Irish group from New York. BUT, last year my friend gave me "Wintersong" by Sarah McLachlan and I am forever in her debt. I honestly think that if I could only listen to one album for the rest of my life, this would be it. Yes, I would listen to Christmas music in July if it could be this album. She sings like an angel, and I am not the type of girl to make romantic, flowery statements like that. It is positively ethereal.

I agree, and I love Joni Mitchel. It is hard for me to love someone else singing one of her songs more, but I just might prefer Sarah's version.

"Song for a Winter's Night" has been a longtime favorite of mine. It's on a b-sides and rarities collection of hers from forever ago. I also hear her version of "O little Town.." in a store the other day, and just wanted to sit right down. close my eyes, imagine myself in front of a roaring fire, and call it a night. Such a sweet voice. Excellent choice!

Could I have left more letters or punctuation out of that post? Sorry :)

They were GIVING this CD away at our local Hardware store the other day and I grabbed 5 copies for stocking stuffers. Sarah has a positively lovely voice. "Wintersong" and "River" have been playing in our household since early December :)
